The Mayflower Community Health Center (Grinnell, Iowa) is rated “Overall High Performing” in the U.S. News & World Report 2018-2019 national “Best Nursing Homes” ratings.
As the global authority in healthcare rankings, U.S. News has awarded this designation based upon Mayflower’s nursing staff levels and medical quality measures in providing care for long-term residents and short-stay patients. Only 80 Iowa nursing facilities out of 439 (18%) are rated as “High Performing” for 2018-19.
Mayflower’s top rating is the result of measures exceeding national and state averages in the areas of nurse staffing, total registered nurse time, total licensed practical nurse time, certified nurse aides time, consistency of staffing, flu and pneumonia vaccination rates, number of falls, level of resident involvement in activities, infection and pressure ulcer rates, rehospitalization incidents, successful discharges back into the community, rehabilitation and therapy minutes per resident
