On Tuesday, November 30th, four different Grinnell College student ensembles presented an hour of chamber music at Mayflower. They performed under the direction of Alan Henson, Applied Music Associate and the Director of Chamber Ensembles at Grinnell College. Leslie Jaworski, Director of Community Life and Wellness at Mayflower coordinated the event in Mayflower’s Buckley Dining Room.
According to Leslie, “The groups turned a regular Tuesday evening into a lovely night at a ‘concert hall,’ playing for a crowd of approximately 50 Mayflower residents.”
The student instrumental musicians were fully vaccinated and masked. They hail from across the U.S. and a few other countries. There were four chamber ensembles—one duet, two quartets, and one quintet—who performed works from the chamber music repertoire by Mozart, Shostakovich, and Schubert.
