The Mayflower resident travel club, the Adventurers, organized by Kathy Szary, traveled by Lester the Bus to sites in Des Moines on Tuesday, August 22nd. Driven by Sig Barber, “Lester” is a 13-seat, comfortable shuttle bus. The group visited the Des Moines Botanical Center and the Hall of Laureates World Food Prize. Both sites hosted guided tours for the visitors. Lunch was enjoyed in the Botanical Center’s Trellis Restaurant.
