Even though we are observing physical distancing, The Mayflower Community Health Center and Beebe Assisted Living residents can still party!
As you can see from these photos, we celebrated special occasions.
That Grinnell stalwart, Art Heimann, observed his 98th birthday last Wednesday. Before the onset of the pandemic, 23 members of his family had planned to join him for a celebratory dinner. Instead, he settled for cupcakes with the Mayflower staff. Either way, he knows he is revered and loved.
In addition, our Food Services department baked special cupcakes for
Dale and Helen Lippincott as they celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary. Their daughter delivered flowers and visited at the window. In addition, with the help of staff, Dale and Helen were able to FaceTime with their other daughter. Helen thought it was amazing! To top off the day, Dale and Helen were the recipients of the day’s KGRN anniversary cake!
Food Service Director, Scott Gruhn, and staffer Sue Allen delivered chocolate and vanilla malts to Health Center and Beebe Assisted Living residents (pictured above).
Talk about (and seeing about) FaceTiming….Bob Smith was able to connect with his granddaughter in London. Connie Osborn spoke with and saw her daughter Chellie and two grandchildren.
