The Iowa Democratic Party will conduct a satellite caucus for Mayflower Community residents on 2020 caucus day, Monday, February 3rd. It will be held at 3:00pm in the Carman Center. Caucus-goers may start signing in at 2:30pm.
Please enter the Carman Center by way of the skywalk on the west from the Beebe building. The targeted time for adjournment is 5:00pm. Resident Nancy Wolff will be the main contact on site and will be assisted by volunteers.
The Iowa Democratic Party is encouraging any Mayflower resident to participate who is not a registered Democrat but who wants to caucus. All caucus day participants at Mayflower are required to register no later than January 17th. For those with Internet access, registration can be accomplished at this website: https://iowadems.cp.bsd.net/page/signup/online-Satellite-Caucus-Pre-Registration?v13.
In addition, the Party is planning to set up a registration table prior to January 17th on campus at a time to be determined.
The Iowa Democratic Party has announced 99 satellite caucus locations for Iowa voters to participate in the first-in-the-nation caucuses during extended hours at a venue other than their assigned precinct location. There will be a total of 1,678 precinct caucus locations in Iowa.
Just like precinct caucuses, each satellite location will have a trained captain who is charged with overseeing the room, managing volunteers, and reporting the results on caucus night. The number of delegate equivalents from each satellite site is based on the total number of attendees at that site on caucus night.
