As part of the Pearson/Buckley tunnel and Pearson lower-level remodeling in process, our Kiesel Theater has a fresh coat of paint and signage. Named for Ferdinand Kiesel, who donated his home at the corner of 2nd Avenue and Broad Street, the Theater has 55 seats on a ramped base with easy viewing of the 10-foot screen. The seats were harvested from the downtown Grinnell Strand Theater and completely refurbished. The Theater is replete with sconce lighting, runway lights, fans, surround sound, and wheelchair-accessible viewing areas. In the kitchenette next door is a popcorn-making machine used weekly for movie matinees. This area has been repainted and the approach hallway now has new lighting, new handrails, and luxury vinyl wood floor plank.
