On Wednesday, November 13th, The Mayflower Community announced a professional relationship with the Home Instead® franchise based in Newton, Iowa. A part of a national organization based in Omaha, the Home Instead Senior Care franchise is owned by Jeff Wisnieski.
With over 70 caregivers, Home Instead provides services to people in their homes. This includes home helper support, personal services (bathing, dressing, incontinence care, mobility assistance), companionship time, and transitional care (incidental transportation, prescription pick-up, other errands).
Mayflower has discovered that using Home Instead can be cost effective while offering services seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Therefore, in partnering with Home Instead, Mayflower can communicate specific needs of potential clients. Mayflower will still offer basic services to campus residents in our Beebe Assisted Living building. This includes liaison with medical providers, medication set-up and management, health assessments, whirlpool bathing, wound care and injections, and Code Alert nurse call system.
Kellie McGriff, Mayflower’s Associate Director/Administrator, explained the transition and introduced Mr. Wisnieski at a meeting attended by Mayflower residents and family members.
