Life goes on in The Mayflower Community (Grinnell IA). Yes, our Health Center and Beebe Assisted Living are closed to visitors. And, all independent living group activities have been suspended. However, our over 200 independent living residents are still finding ways to live safe lives.
We are practicing social distancing and asking that group gatherings not be any larger than four people. In addition, we request that residents wear face masks when out on campus.
Mayflower residents have organized hallway check-in and sing-along parties. Music is being played in the spacious Buckley Courtyard. Six-foot distancing conversations are still taking place, including afternoon gatherings in the sun at the Pearson building entrance.
With the nice weather, residents are getting out for walks and courtyard relaxation—at six-foot spacing. Folks are gaining expertise with Zoom and FaceTime for telephone chats. Tasty meals are still being delivered from our Buckley kitchen throughout the day.
This is better than being cooped all alone at home.
How about considering a move to Mayflower? Currently, our Harwich Terrace patio homes and our Watertower Square apartments are full with waiting lists. Fortunately, we do have available a few traditional apartments—of various sizes—on the inner campus. On the accompanying campus map, the location of the apartments is marked. And, the floor plan of one sample apartment is also shown.
Would you like to know more and look at some apartments? That is possible. We maintain social distancing and ask that you wear a face mask, which we can provide. We will visit only empty apartments. Let’s schedule some time. To set an appointment, please call or email Bob Mann, Sales & Marketing Director 641-236-6151 x167).
