The third session in the series of four presentations of “healthy minds/healthy bodies” information at The Mayflower Community will feature Dr. Jennifer Paisley, a local M.D. and hospitalist, and Andrew Dunham, a local organic farmer.
Based at UPH-Grinnell Regional Medical Center, Dr. Paisley specializes in internal medicine and pediatrics. She is certified in obesity medicine. Dunham, an ISU graduate with a B.S. in animal science, is a fifth-generation farmer who manages a USDA-certified organic farm with his wife on his family’s 160-year old farmstead.
Entitled “Food as Medicine: The Importance of Nutrition and Food Quality for Your Health,” the session will discuss the impact of food quality on personal health, ways to improve diet, understanding the role of food as medicine, and the value of knowing your food source.
The public is invited to this one-hour program, which will include question-and-answer time, on Thursday, June 20th; 2:00-3:00pm; Mayflower Health Center, 2nd floor Carman Center, 600 Park Street, Grinnell.
This session follows the successful presentations regarding craniosacral therapy by licensed physical therapist, Jackie Hutchison and mindfulness by licensed acupuncturist, Danielle Sadler.
