Members of the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams with their coach Erin Hurley, came to dinner last night (January 15th) in The Mayflower Community. Coach Hurley has been at the helm for 25 seasons!
As has been our 15-year tradition, Mayflower hosts on-campus students and athletes during winter break when the dining services are closed. With the swimmers and divers last night, more joined in the dining fun…MANY more. There were hundreds there. Well, maybe 78, but that’s a lot of pasta and salad!
The group was hosted by residents Art Heimann, Russ Leggett, Jean Libbey, and Gordon and Karen Packard, friends Pat Cushing and Dee Fairchild, and Mayflower leadership, Executive Director, Steve Langerud and Associate Director/Administrator, Kellie McGriff, BSN/NHA.
The food was prepared and served by the Mayflower Food Service staff, led by Scott Gruhn, Pounch Rojohn, and Jacque Kirby.
The athletes brought energy and warmth to the Buckley Dining Room on a cold night. In fact, some of the women, who had not been out of the pool long, came with wet hair. We promised not to tell their mothers!
