On Tuesday, June 21st, an array of sweet treats was baked and prepared by The Mayflower Community’s Foodservices staff for a special tasting by residents. On the buffet line in the Buckley Dining Room were the following delicacies:
- Popovers – Jelly and whip cream-filled popovers dusted with powdered sugar
- Lemon Cupcakes – Sweet lemon cake topped with a butter cream frosting and lemon zest
- Dark Chocolate Tarte – A dark chocolate ganache with peanuts in a sweet dough shell
- Bourbon Pecan Pie – Sweet pecan pie in a flaky crust served warm
- Candy Bar – Chocolate and coconut bar with white chips
- Rice Pudding – Rice pudding with a mango sauce and diced strawberries
- Chocolate Fountain – Flowing chocolate for dipping with assorted foods
- Pana Cotta – A vanilla panna cotta (Italian dessert of sweetened cream thickened with gelatin and molded) with thin blueberry puree coulis sauce
