Santa Claus joined Mayflower Community resident and children books author, Marilyn Schuler, for a kids Christmas celebration on Thursday, December 19th in the Grinnell Carman Center. Santa had presents. Marilyn read from one of her books, “Mia’s Night Adventure,” and then gave the children the choice of a book from those she has written. Of course, there was some Christmas carol singing. Even though we were visited by the Grinch (Travis Snodgrass, husband to nurse aide, Hannah Snodgrass), it was still a merry ‘ol Christmas time.
Resident Shane Estes played Santa Claus. Unused to the beard, at times the white mustache slipped up onto his nose.
