On Wednesday, June 26th, a retirement celebration was held for Mayflower Community employees, Pat Conn, R.N.; Christine Tinker; and Len Eberhart. The Buckley Dining Room was gussied up for the three to greet well-wishers. And, there were a bunch there—over 100 people showed up to express appreciation for all that the three have done for Mayflower residents and staff over 41 combined years.
Pat worked in the Health Center, most recently as weekend senior nurse, for 23 of her 40+ years in nursing. Christine Tinker served 11 years as Mayflower’s Spiritual Care Coordinator after retirement from full-time and interim ministry. Len Eberhart was Mayflower’s chaplain for the last seven years, following retirement as a career pastor in the United Methodist Church.
The event arrangements were coordinated by Christy Kaisand, Mayflower’s Human Resources Director. The goodies and set-up were handled by Mayflower’s Food Service staff. Many less-abled residents were assisted in attending by Mayflower’s Nursing and Housekeeping staff members.
