On Friday, July 26th, Mayflower residents John and Pasha Buck hosted “The Village People” for lunch in the Mayflower J&B Bistro. This group did no singing, even though John and Pasha could have easily accompanied them on their instruments.
The Village People were visitors from The Village, a WesleyLife Community in Indianola. John and Pasha had lived there before moving to Mayflower a year ago last July. They wanted to show off Mayflower, especially our outstanding food, to their former neighbors.
Of course, taking into account that Indianola was fresh off being an overnight stop on RAGBRAI and that they are in the midst of the Warren County Fair and the Annual National Balloon Classic, these folks might have accepted any invitation to get out of town.
Both accomplished musicians, John and Pasha have entertained Mayflower residents with a brass duet. In addition, Pasha is serving as interim chaplain upon the retirement of Christine Tinker.
